Episode #17 (posted by Jon)
Aww man. Now we'll never know what the shockwave pulsar does...

I actually struggled a bit with the script for this comic. I knew from the get-go that I wanted to finish the battle on the ground, as doing so is essential for the events of the next few comics. My original plan was to have the Emerald Fiend actually get hit by the shockwave pulsar spell, and then that would somehow result in Ganon ending up on the ground. However, I couldn't find a way of implementing the idea that I liked. Also, I thought it was somewhat of a let down that neither Ganon nor the Emerald Fiend could think of a way to avoid the spell again, so I decided, instead, to have the fiend dodge it.

Once I began experimenting with the dodge, I concluded that it would be way funnier if Ganon just flat-out fell off, so I worked that into the Emerald Fiend's motions. After that I naturally concluded that a little bar representing Ganon's grip would be hilarious, so I added that in. And then in the final frame I thought something should happen if Ganon was going to pass right by the FA fire spirit, so I added the final reflect spell. And I tell you, it was all wroth it! The comic came out great. It's always good to see a comic work out even better than I originally planned. Hope everyone likes it.

I would also like to add that Secret of Mana: Animated Theater has finally started again! That's right, Sprite Monkey has finally started up his flash movie/webcomic again! Also, for those of you who don't know, the first book of Caroline Curtis' 9th Elsewhere, the first book of Lady Yate's EarthSongSaga, and the fifth book of Fred Gallagher's Megatokyo have been completed, and are ready to be ordered! You can use these links to visit these webcomics, or seek them out on external links page.

But, if that's somehow still not enough for you...new sbmail!

Enjoy,
