Episode #38 (posted by Jon)
Ah yes. Nothing like a little Final Fantasy VI humor to cheer you up after the FA fire spirit's untimely demise.

I like how this one came out. Took me a long time to find the right images, and get photoshop to stop hiccuping (word of advice: print-screening images from full-screen videos on YouTube causes photoshop - or my version of photoshop anyway - to temporarily get stuck in the hand tool - it didn't use to, but it does now that they changed the video format on me), but it was worth it.

As you may have inferred from today's comic, I went and saw 28 Weeks Later this evening, and I quite enjoyed it. Not sure if it was as good as 28 Days Later, but nevertheless, I did enjoy it. When I have a moment, I may throw together a review for it.

Well I finally got all of the spyware off of my machine (took three sweeps and three reboots, but it's gone). The sound card still glitches now and again, but, otherwise, it is running much more smoothly.

Also, let me apologize again for missing the last update (see below for details). I worked as quickly as I could, but, in the end, too many things went wrong, and I was not able to finish it until today. Hope it was worth the wait.

Oh, and, if it's any consolation, there will be new psp wallpapers at some point this weekend.

Enjoy,

Hello everyone. Please allow to apologize for not updating last night/this morning (5/10/07). Here's what happened...

Sunday night/Monday morning, I got almost no sleep, as I had to prepare a poetry presentation. Monday night/Tuesday morning, I was still able to update, but had to, thereafter, stay up all night trying to study for an English midterm, but constantly getting sidetracked by Inuyasha. Tuesday night/Wednesday (yesterday) morning, I got no sleep as I had to do all the studying for the English midterm that I did, in fact, not do Tuesday.

At about 3pm yesterday, I had survived my English midterm, attended my economics class (physically), and dragged myself home. I had a little bit of time between getting home and going to my poetry class, so I decided to take a one hour nap. Big mistake...

I set my alarm, hit the hay, and had two consecutive dreams. During the first dream, I was in my dorm (except I had a bathtub in place of a bed for some reason), and I was doing whatever. Then I heard a terrible beeping noise (in retrospect, probably my alarm going off), and I tried to take cover in the bathtub...yeah, I guess I thought the beeping was a bomb, and that the bathtub would shield me from the explosion like in Lethal Weapon 2...or something...

I think at this point I may have woken up long enough to realize that one my roommates had guests over and then dozed off again, but I can't be sure. It's all a vague blur...

Anyway, here begins dream #2. I was wandering around campus late at night, and I happened upon a woman - whom I could have sworn I'd seen somewhere before in real life - wandering around as well. We got to talking, and an annoying beeping noise (different from the first) started playing. But, having realized from the first dream that it was, in fact, not form a bomb, I opted to ignore it.

The girl and I chatted for a while, and then she heard the noise too and asked me what it was. And I told her "I dunno...though it does sound an awful lot like my alarm cl -" and then I woke up. I picked up my phone/alarm clock to turn it off and, to my horror, discovered that it was 8am Thursday! I slept from 3pm Wednessday to 8am Thursday! Sixteen hours!

That's right. The very concept of a woman was enough to make me to sleep through my poetry class, miss updating the comic, and left me with a measly four hours to get up, shower, and prepare my nutrition diet-analysis project! So I dragged myself out of bed, showered, and got my project done just in the nick of time (printing that thing alone took almost half an hour...).

So here's what I gather. The beeping noise in my first dream as my alarm, and I just hid in the bathtub until it stopped going off (subconsciously, I was probably just looking for an excuse not to go to class). The second beeping (which did not start until the next dream) was actually Krunal leaving me a text message about how his computer doesn't work.

So yeah. My one hour catnap turned into a sixteen hour snooze-fest! I mean, I've overslept before, but good God! Oversleeping Fifteen hours!? Except maybe for that time Sam overslept till 5pm (might even have been 6pm; it's somewhere in there), that has to be some kind of record!

Naturally, I was really hungry when I woke up, having slept through a dinner, the bag of chips I usually eat around midnight while I'm updating, a breakfast, and I was in class well past the time I usually have my early Tuesday lunch.

So I would like to make it up to you by updating today, but problems keep arising. I was not out of class until 2pm, then I had to go eat lunch (again with the hunger). Then I found myself locked out of my dorm (without my phone), as my keycard is no longer working. Eventually, one of my roommates, Kenny, happened by and let me in. Then, when I got inside, my internet wasn't working (I hate Clean Access Agent almost as much as I hate the fact that my school requires me to have it running all the time...).

I fixed my net access, and then I rebooted. After my computer woke up, I had to spend forever getting some newly-discovered spyware off of it. Then I had to reboot again to fix my soundcard (I don't know what was up with that, the sound was broken for everything except the beeps that come with error messages). When my computer woke up again, a new bath of spyware was waiting for me.

So, I would love to update right now and make it up to you, but I can't yet. The spirit is willing, but the computer is weak, and the flesh is still kind of groggy. I'll start working again as soon as I can, but it's looking like I'm going to have to push #38 back until Friday. Try not to hate me too much.

Enjoy,
